Always eat breakfast within 30 minutes to an hour of waking up in the morning. It will help jump start your metabolism for the day. While any breakfast is better than none, try eating a breakfast high in protein and fiber. Breakfast is your most important meal of the day and scientific research backs this up. According to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, a study found the lifelong breakfast- skippers had higher cholesterol levels and carried more mid-section weight than breakfast eaters.
I can't eat the same breakfast everyday, so I try to change it up during the week. A few examples of a well balanced breakfast are:
- 2 eggs (done anyway), a slice of multigrain toast and a strip of bacon
- protein shake with protein powder, any fruit of your liking and water
